21 years in telecom. I’m still the person who picks up the phone.
Realm Communications is a woman-owned business
More than two decades building relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and end customers — including hospital systems, government agencies, and enterprise IT departments.
I started in this industry 21 years ago as a customer service rep. It turned out to be the best possible training for this business. I learned the hardware from the ground up: I learned what breaks, what gets discontinued, and how to respond to customer needs.
That customer service role turned into sales, and sales became two decades of relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and customers across the country and, at this point, around the world.
And, at the end of 2020, I bought the company. Today, I run Realm Communications as a woman-owned business, built on the same principles I started with: answer the phone, solve the problem, and figure out the logistics after. It's these values I instill throughout the organization.

What "service" means at Realm
A long-term business partner of mine supports hospitals across the Pacific Northwest. Most people think of system downtime as an inconvenience. For them, it's a patient safety issue.
More than once, that's meant getting a part on a plane and into a courier's hands the same day to get a hospital back online as fast as possible. Most other vendors either don't offer that kind of response, or charge a premium for it. I don't, because the relationship has always mattered more to me than the invoice.
How I work with customers
● You’ll get a direct line. When you call or email, you're reaching me, not a call center or a general customer service line.
● I’ll respond fast. Most calls are answered within a few hours—if not immediately.
● I’ll fix it first, and sort logistics after. As the owner, I don't need approval chains to make a decision. If something's broken, we fix it, then figure out the details.
● I'm not chasing the lowest price, I'm building a partnership. Low overhead means I have flexibility most competitors don't. If I can help a project stay on budget, or sharpen a quote to help you win business, I will.
● I get to know you. Some of my longest relationships started with a site visit or a vendor introduction 15 or 20 years ago. I still believe that's how this business should work.
